Optimizing important activities and reducing emergencies and wasted time are essential requirements in today's world, which calls for an individual reassessment of how time is used. The present research aims to conduct a comprehensive review of the existing literature and theoretical framework on effective time management in public administration. An analysis was conducted of various references found in scientific databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO, selecting articles published between 2019 and 2025 that addressed strategies and resources for efficient time management, using descriptors such as “Time Management,” “Productivity,” “Public Management,” from sources published between 2000 and 2025, within databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO, as well as university repositories, thus addressing common challenges such as overwork, procrastination, and constant interruptions. Through a theoretical study and the evaluation of suggested practices, effective tactics are discovered, such as the Eisenhower Matrix for task organization. It was concluded that effective time management not only increases productivity, but also promotes a healthier and clearer work environment, with the aim of quickly and effectively meeting the needs of citizens.
