Social responsibility in the mining sector represents a critical and multidisciplinary field of study that examines the complex intersection between extractive activities, sustainable development and community well-being. This systematic and exhaustive review comprehensively analyses the strategies, challenges, impacts and opportunities of social responsibility in Latin American mining, with special emphasis on the Peruvian context and its unique characteristics. Through a rigorous and detailed analysis of case studies and relevant scientific publications, the research revealed the complexity and diversity of social dynamics in mining environments, identifying emerging models of intervention that transcend traditional approaches of economic compensation and focus on the co-creation of value and sustainable development. The results of this research highlight the urgent need to develop comprehensive, participatory, contextualized social responsibility strategies adapted to the cultural, socioeconomic and environmental specificities of each territory and community. This requires a deep understanding of the needs and expectations of stakeholders, as well as effective collaboration and coordination between public and private actors involved in the mining industry.
