Accelerated corrosion tests are essential for the design of metallic structures used in environments with high NaCl concentrations. The salt spray chamber is laboratory equipment that provides a controlled corrosive atmosphere. In this work, the use of piezoelectric discs for the pulverization of the solution is proposed, replacing the traditional equipment that uses compressed air, which reduces the volume and cost. For the implementation of the proposed devices, the use of sensors, a 250 W resistance heater and an interface with liquid crystal displays to monitor the variables of interest are integrated, including three Arduino microcontrollers that are programmed to process the data obtained. The experimental results indicate that the proposal allows a precise control of humidity and temperature with a low power consumption of less than 25W, in addition to a uniform production of the suspended aerosol particles. It is concluded that piezoelectric technology is capable of replacing the air compression system, it also offers an alternative to spray the saline solution, with less power and cost.
